Trying to figure out which low fat diet foods to eat can be a real challenge. It seems you really can’t get everything that you need. If you find something that is low in calories, it might taste bad. Something that is low in fat might be high in sugar. Finally, when you find diet foods that are low in fat and low in calories, you end up paying a premium, or sacrificing on taste.
Another problem with trying to find low fat diet food is determining the quantity of food you should be eating. I sometimes get so hungry, I could eat four low-fat dinners in a row! I am not obese or anything; it is just that sometimes the manufacturers of these frozen diet dinners will simply lessen the serving size in order to say that it is low fat or low calorie, etc.
Here are a few options if you want to be consistently eating low fat diet food:
- Make it yourself. This option could probably end up being the cheapest in terms of cost, but can also cost you a lot in terms of time. If you enjoy cooking, have the time and are a good chef, then by all means, start cooking for yourself! With this option, you really have full control over what goes into your meals and what doesn’t. You can also change the ingredients a bit to make it healthier or taste better. Finally, you can mess with the quantities and make sure you don’t go to bed hungry. One of the major downsides is that there is no “nutritional facts” label. You have to really guess at the amount of calories, fat, etc. in your cooking.
- Buy pre-made low fat diet food online or in the grocery store. This is a much easier and faster option, but you don’t get the same flexibility as cooking. Try out different meals and see what works best for you. One option is to order all your food online through a service. Explore all your options until you are satisfied with your diet foods.
